Liz Fraka joined the Odimo studio this spring as an architectural intern. Heading into her 5th year at KU School of Architecture, Liz is a natural leader and problem solver. The opportunities to apply both technical and creative skill sets piqued her interest in the profession, and she is looking forward to being able to apply those skills to benefit the community through project work at Odimo this summer.
Liz was an integral part of the team from KU that recently competed in the 2023 Solar Decathlon Build Challenge, a collegiate competition to design and build a net-zero home. Liz guided the student team to the finish line in this international competition, placing 5th overall. Additionally, the team placed 1st in the Energy Performance and 2nd in the Comfort and Environmental Quality sub-contests. Liz excelled in her role as the Student Team Lead; her favorite parts of the 2-year experience were working with students across year levels of school and the in-depth and hands on learning she received.
In July 2023, Liz will be sworn in as the 2023-2024 Midwest Quad Director for the AIAS. Elected by her peers, she will lead and guide approximately 30 university and high school chapters in the region. When she isn’t laser focused on architecture, Liz is cooking, hanging out with friends, traveling with family, or watching Formula One with her dog. Odimo is thrilled to have this talented emerging leader in our studio. Welcome Liz!
